A decade after Diamond Platnumz’s breakout song “Mbagala” became a sensation, the video’s vixen has finally spoken out about her experience.
The woman, who remains unnamed, revealed that she was not paid for her role in the music video.
Instead, she did it purely out of love for Diamond.
At the time, she was married and had just given birth, but her husband was deeply displeased with her involvement.
The vixen shared that her husband, adhering to their cultural beliefs, strongly opposed her participation.
When the video was released, her husband informed her father, leading to a serious confrontation at home.
Both her husband and father were upset, feeling that her actions went against their values.
She also disclosed that she was only 17 or 18 years old during the filming of “Mbagala”.
Her decision to be part of the project was purely out of her affection for Diamond, whom she referred to as her “child.”
Despite the challenges and backlash she faced, she expressed no regrets, standing by her decision to support the budding artist during that crucial time in his career.
