Diana Marua, known as Diana B, has finally responded to criticism for missing the #RejectFinanceBill2024 protests.

As content creators and celebrities joined Kenyans both online and in the streets, Diana’s absence raised questions and sparked threats to boycott brands associated with her.

Taking to her social media, the mother of four explained her situation. “I have not been feeling well the last couple of days,” Diana shared.

“I was coughing, which led to chest pains because of the severe cough. It came with headaches and hot flashes; I am feeling hot and cold. I have not left this bed since Tuesday.”

Despite her illness, Diana endorsed the protests, urging Kenyans to stay on the streets until their demands were met.

“When we come together, we can reverse the finance bill. Every hashtag counts. Every person on the streets counts.

I hope I will feel better tomorrow and see how things will be. Pray for me, guys; I am hoping I will be better. Let’s continue staying on the streets and reject the finance bill.”

Diana B also reassured her followers that she plans to join the protests in person as soon as she recovers.

“Despite standing with my fellow youths on #RejectTheFinanceBill2024 on all my digital platforms, I would have loved to be on the streets in person.

I’m still on medication and I’m looking forward to being with you on the streets this coming Tuesday and Thursday, God willing.

We will not allow the President to pass this punitive bill aimed at oppressing Kenyans!” she declared.

However, some netizens expressed scepticism about her explanation, questioning why someone with a cold would record videos at night without even a t-shirt and why it took her several days to address the issue.

Despite the doubts, Diana remains firm in her support for the movement and hopes to join the protesters soon.
