Diana Marua’s candid confession: Why she’s not ready to marry Bahati after 7 years

In June 2023, celebrated Kenyan artist Bahati excited fans by announcing his long-awaited wedding to long-time partner, Diana Marua.

The couple had originally planned to wed on December 12, 2023, but later rescheduled the ceremony for October 2024, in honour of their anniversary month.

However, during a recent interview on September 8, Bahati revealed that even the October plans might not materialize.

Diana Marua it seems, has been hesitant to commit to a date.

“We had planned for October 20, which is our anniversary, but now Diana keeps postponing. It’s not up to me anymore,” Bahati shared with a mix of frustration and understanding.

Diana’s indecision has led to constant changes, and now she’s considering a date in February.

Bahati expressed his reluctance to make any further announcements until she settles on a final date.

“I think she’s talking about February now, but I don’t want to say anything until she’s made it official.

I don’t want to look like a clout chaser,” he added.

Bahati also opened up about the couple’s conversations regarding the delays.

“We had this back and forth. First, it was December 12, but Diana thought it was too busy a time.

Then we settled on October 20, but still, she wasn’t sure. It’s her day, and I want her to feel ready.”

Diana Marua, for her part, has candidly admitted that she’s not ready to walk down the aisle.

In a heartfelt explanation, she confessed that weddings give her “butterflies,” and she’s unsure what she needs to feel fully prepared.

“I just want to be ready, but I don’t even know for what exactly. It’s something I’m not mentally prepared for, but I’m working on it,” Diana explained.

While she hinted at the possibility of a wedding sometime next year, Diana remains noncommittal. “Maybe next year,” she said, avoiding specifics.

Despite the ongoing wedding postponements, the couple’s love and commitment remain strong.

In October 2023, Bahati formalized their relationship by paying a dowry to Diana’s family, marking a major milestone.

Together, they’ve built a blended family with five children, and their focus continues to be on nurturing their home while waiting for the right moment to say “I do.”
