Dj Shitti: “No need to start unnecessary wars against Nigeria, Our Music Industry is stagnating for real”

Kenyan Comedian Steven Oduor popularly known as Dj Shitti has addressed his concerns on the state of the Kenyan Music Industry following criticism from a Nigerian comedian.

In his concerns, Dj Shitti agreed with the critics and said that the Kenyan artists should see this as a wake-up call and not get offended.

“He ain’t tripping but speaking the truth. Our Artists should get out of their comfort zones. Avoid normal moves that have precluded you from breaking borders over the years.” Dj Shitti wrote on Instagram.

He went on to advise the young upcoming artist to promote their craft by posting on social media and to think out of the box.

He dares them to go International through their lyrics but also not get too caught up in forgetting the Kenyan heritage.

“Help our upcoming artist to identify our culture first and to embrace the true sense of heritage than package it on how it can be sold outside.” Dj Shitti wrote on Instagram.

He applauded Motif Don-a Kenyan producer who, in the past years has shown his commitment to supporting young artists by providing free studio sessions

“I’m trying bro, people don’t understand the free sessions I do to show those talents to the world. I still have a plan, by the end of this year Kenya will thank me for it”. Motif Don wrote on Instagram.

Kenyans however, had different opinions.

Some agreed with what Dj Shitti was saying whereas others were motivated to attack the Nigerian comedian through comments.
