Doctor favors the boychild in C-section delivery

A doctor from Bungoma has stirred controversy on social media after revealing that he chose to begin with a boychild during C-section delivery of twins (boy and girl).

Dr. Mbiti Mwondi was conducting a C section that went successful.

This was after he carried out an operation on an expectant mother in a C-section delivery, when a set of twins, a boy and a girl were successfully delivered.

He however took to X, explaining how he chose on whom to extract first after the operation.

He favoured the boychild during the C- section delivery, as he disclosed how the boychild influenced superiority.

According to the doctor, he had previously sought consent from the mother.

Meanwhile, thousands of his followers on X were quick to condemn his moral prejudice, citing him for lack of professionalism.

The latter post was deleted but was raging with furiousness in the comment section.

According to Kenyans on social media, the tweet Mwondi posted served as an example of inappropriate content, especially for a doctor.

What people on X thought about Mwondi

It was unprofessional for him to confess his gender biased opinion and having attached photos of the newborns.

At the same time, furious medics cited several wrongdoings during and after conducting the life threatening surgery.

However, an Ireland based doctor gave Mwondi a piece of advice.

‘You cant possibly choose who to extract first. You always start with the presenting twin. Reaching out to extract a boy who might be far away can cause serious maternal-fetal harm,’ One Dr. Yusuf Mahat stated.

He added, “Let’s be cautious and maintain the dignity of our profession. Especially now that there’s turmoil! Choosing who to extract first is not a medical decision. Sad!”

Another X influencer @asamoh said, “these young doctors need mentorship. They are too excited to the extent they don’t understand the boundary between X clout and Medical ethics. @mbiti_mwondi we will call you out on this. We are guided by intellectual honesty!”

Another X user posted, “The intellectual collapse of our society. A mature doctor with all these qualifications and (claims to be) philosophically grounded is so desperately needy for attention of the indolent that he can use the miracle of childbirth and innocent babies to entertain degenerates. SMH!”

On her part, Wangari Grace said, “We see the impact of personal beliefs on quality of care across the globe. Even in Kenya, we have anecdotal accounts on how care services are affected when medics impose their beliefs on patients.”

After a series of criticism Mwondi deleted the initial X tweet, blaming feminism for poor judgment.

Mbiti Mwondi’s online affiliation with male-oriented topics is well-documented.

He runs an X space titled ‘Masculinity Saturdays’. His last edition broadcasted to over 5,900 people.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mwondi is a medical officer at the St. Damiano Mission Hospital in Bungoma.
