Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has sent out an encouraging message to those who did not meet the minimum University cut off points.
This comes hours after Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu released results for the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
In a statement on social media, Babu Owino advised the 694,400 Students who did not attain C+ and above to remain hopeful.
“Do not be embarrassed by your failure, learn from it and start.Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success,” he began.
Owino, who offered online tutoring for Mathematics during the exam period, stated that failure in exam was not fatal.
“Success is not built on success. It’s built on failure. It’s built on frustration. Sometimes it’s built on catastrophe. When we give ourselves permission to fail, we, at the same time, give ourselves permission to excel,” the MP added.
Options for 2023 KCSE Candidates
Babu Owino advised the candidates to register for artisan, certificate and diploma courses depending on their KCSE grade.
“But don’t stop there, after Diploma go for a Degree course,” he added.
Alternatively, some of the 694,400 could also consider repeating Form 4, the Embakasi East MP opined.
“For some don’t fear to repeat form 4 for there’s no hurry in life, fail 9 times rise 10 you shall still have succeeded.”

Hours after the 2023 KCSE results were released, the legislator took to social media to express great pride in his efforts after CS Machogu announced that there was an improvement in Mathematics.
“Mathematics is the Best Performed subject in the just released KCSE.Walimu wa maths hapa ni Wapi? Our online lessons/tutorials have paid off,” he wrote.
