Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was forced to lecture the crowd on the importance of respecting leaders after a group of individuals started heckling during a roadside rally meeting attended by himself and President William Ruto.
The crowd started heckling Thika town member of parliament Alice Ng’anga after she stated her plans to unseat Kiambu Governor Kimani wa Matangi in the 2027 general elections.
“Kiambu residents embarrassed me. Heckling in front of the king has never happened in Mt Kenya.” Stated Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“That is ODM behaviour, we will not accept that kind of behaviour. Ruto is our King we must respect him,” he added.
President William Ruto was in the Mount Kenya region for three days where he started with Kiambu and then proceeded to Murang’a.
Ruto commissioned was in Lari Constituency, Kiambu County, for the launch of construction of the Uplands-Kiijabe-Maai Mahiu road
