DP Gachagua blames Uhuru government for installing fake power generators at JKIA

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration has once again been blamed for the troubles plaguing the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA .

First it was the leaking roof and now deputy president Rigathi Gachagua says that the back up power generator installed at the Kenya’s number one airport are fake and were installed during the jubilee administration.

According to the Deputy President who speaking in Baringo ,Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen should buy and install new generators ,as the ones in place keep on switching on and off because they are fake.

“Leave Kipchumba Murkomen alone; some are suggesting that he resigns, and he is putting in so much effort… The other government purchased fake generators; when they are turned on, they malfunction. If a small load is applied, they begin emitting smoke.” said the DP about the JKIA blackouts.

The Power outages at the airport have seen many calling for the resignation of both CS Murkomen and his Energy and petroleum counterpart Davis Chirchir.

Nandi Senator Samson Cheragei has been at logger heads over the situation at JKIA last month the CS stated that JKIA will be fitted with back up generators to avoid outages that paralyze operations at Kenya’s gateway.

JKIA has twice been the victim of a nationwide power outage.
