Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua on Friday, August 25 told Azimio leader Raila Odinga he is fearful of a change of character in President William Ruto should a handshake come to pass.
The DP and Odinga were attending the burial of late Mau Mau warrior Brigadier John Kiboko at Ngorika Primary School in Nyandarua County.
“We fear you, The reason, ulikuja ukapata mtoto wetu Uhuru alikuwa anafanya kazi, anatupenda sana,
“Mliposhikana na yeye akageuka. Akija kwako alikuwa anacheka, akirudi kwetu ako na makasiriko,” Gachagua explained.
The second in command went on to tell Odinga that their 2018 handshake with Uhuru caused their fallout after years of tight friendship.
“I was his personal assistant. He was my best buddy. We used to eat together and visit each other,
“Our children and wives were good friends. When you two teamed up he betrayed me and even wanted to jail me,” he told Odinga.
The former Mathira Member of Parliament (MP) asked the Azimio honcho to provide assurance that President Ruto would not betray Mt Kenya after the handshake.
