Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has come to the aid of a Mandazi seller in Mombasa who impressed him with her hard work and determination in her hustle.

Gachagua shared photos on his X account as he took his early morning walk in Mombasa City along Mama Ngina drive.

“In my early morning walks along Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa City, I usually notice this particular woman engrossed in baking mandazi and cheerfully serving it with tea to her customers, mostly hustlers walking to their places of work,” he wrote as his caption.

The lady whose name is Asha Sidi Chengo looked amazed by the presence of the Country’s second top boss who had visited her work area.

“She is Asha Sidi Chengo, whose focus is to fend for the family and secure the future of her children and today, I reached out to her to understand her drive,” Gachagua added.

Asha was then invited by the deputy President to his residence in Mombasa as the DP sought to understand her hustle better.

The conversation of offering her 2 teenage sons quality education arose and Gachagua offered to better the education of her sons.

“The deep determination to live a dignified life and specifically offer her children quality education stood out in our conversation,” said the DP.

Nevertheless, Gachagua also promised to expand Asha’s business as a way of supporting her hustle.
