DP Gachagua rubbishes claims of division within Mt. Kenya

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has refuted claims about rifts within Mt. Kenya political leaders.

Speaking at Kwaharaka market in Kinangop, Nyandarua County during a humanitarian visit to over 20 families whose property was destroyed by heavy rains, Gachagua said that Mt. Kenya is solidly behind President William Ruto and anyone who wants to divide the people will not succeed as the leaders are speaking in one voice.

“Watu wengine hawatuelewi sisi kama watu wa Mlima Kenya. Sisi hatuna misingi ya kikaunti, sisi nguvu yetu ni umoja wetu. Sisi sote katika hi mlima tumeungana nyuma ya rais wetu William Ruto na hapo ndiyo tutakaa,” Gachagua said.

He lashed out to those who have started early campaigns (succession politics) stating that they should wait for the next general election to seek votes from the people, insisting that they should give the government maximum support to fulfil its manifesto to the people.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Nyandarua Governor John Kiarie Badilisha, Kinangop Member of Parliament Kwenya Thuku and area Senator John Methu.
