DP Gachagua scores E as President Ruto scores D in latest Infotrack report

Deputy President Rigathi Gachgaua has scored an E in terms of his performance in the year 2023, according to an Infotrack report.

According to an Infotrack report released on Friday, December 29, Gachagua scored 36 percent in terms of his performance in 2023.  

On the other hand, Azimio leader Raila Odinga scored a D of 48 percent. Raila was rated, based on the role he played as opposition leader in 2023.

Similarly, President William Ruto has been ranked with a D of 47 percent in terms of his performance in 2023 according to Infotrack survey.

The survey was conducted between December 18 to December 19, 2023. During the survey, 1,500 respondents were interviewed through Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) across all 47 counties.

The general performance of all cabinet secretaries was rated at D of 43 percent while the National Assembly also scored a D of 43 percent in 2023.

According to the latest statistics from Infotrack, the Senate scored a D of 42 percent, while the Judiciary scored a D of 47 percent.

Infotrack placed performance of the police at 45 percent (D), County governments with a D of 47 percent while County Assemblies scored a D of 45 percent.

The Infotrack report was released at a time when Tifa research had also released the latest report showing that most Kenyans feel 2023 was worse than 2022.

According to the Tifa report, 81 percent of Kenyans feel that the economy in 2023 was worse than in 2022.

“According to the Year-End Poll, nearly 67 percent of Kenyans believe 2023 was more challenging than 2022.

“Additionally, respondents expressed that the cost of living, economic conditions, employment prospects and access to loans were worse than the previous year,” read part of Tifa report.
