Deputy president Kithure Kindiki has condemned chaos recently witnessed in Limuru, Kiambu County during a burial event.
Speaking on Sunday December 2, 2024 at Gospel Outreach church in Kyuso, Mwingi North, Kitui County, Kindiki encouraged leaders to embrace peace and desist from violence.
His remarks come a few days after chaos were witnessed during a burial ceremony in Limuru where the former DP, Rigathi Gachagua was in attendance.
“We must protect this country from political violence. Politicians should not incite their supporters to cause violence at public gatherings,” said Kindiki.
On curbing corruption, Kindiki directed all government taxes to be paid directly to E-citizen, adding that all counties should also emulate the same.
At the same time, the DP promised to push for completion of stalled Enziu Bridge that killed 33 persons.
He also said the stalled Kibwezi- Kitui road will be completed among other key roads in Kitui, adding that the government is committed to serving all Kenyans equally.
Meanwhile, the deputy president also called on Kenyans to register for SHA, for a better and improved health care.
Kindiki was accompanied by MPs; Eng. Paul Nzengu (Mwingi North), Mwenda Gataya (Senator, Tharaka Nithi), Lilian Siyoi (Woman Representative, Trans Nzoia County), Eric Wamumbi (Mathira), Benard Kitur (Nandi Hills), Patrick Munene (Chuka Igambang’ombe), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), MCAs and other other leaders.
