A police officer in Uganda has been dismissed from the force after he was charged with attempted murder and threatening violence.

Police corporal Ambrose Katumwehe was sacked after he threatened violence against Nakyanzi Caroline, a barmaid in Kanekye trading center.

This was not the first event as the 57-year-old police officer attached to Kanekye Police Post had one too many before everything went wrong.

Uganda Police Spokesperson says UPF as an institution continues to hold officers who commit acts of violence, accountable. We stand for rule of law and will not tolerate such acts of impunity, within our rank and file.

The cop would later return to his post, and was arrested shortly thereafter by a team led by Bushenyi District Commander.
