Eddie Butita seeks female chef – must be beautiful and single with no kids

Eddie Butita has stirred up quite the buzz with a recent job advertisement that has left social media users and fans talking.

Butita, known for his witty humor and online sketches, announced that he is looking for a female chef to join his team, but the criteria he outlined have raised eyebrows.

In a post shared on his social media platforms, Butita specified that the ideal candidate should be a woman between the ages of 24 and 28, preferably from Mombasa.

However, what sparked the most debate was his additional requirement that the candidate must be single and without children.

This unusual condition has prompted a range of reactions, from amusement to criticism.

The Requirements

Butita’s video , which quickly gained traction on social media, said:

“Hello guyz it’ s Sunday around 6 and I’ve not eaten, so if I continue like this it’s like I will be staying hungry.

So now it’ s official guyz, I’m looking for a chef. Must be female, must come from the coastal region because I like Swahili dishes.

Must be between age 24 to 28, must be single, must not have been married before must also not have a kid because I’ d also want her to be flexible, anytime she’s being called to cook she shows up.

Must be ready to work late, because you know sometimes when all of a sudden I’m planning to eat at 2a.m so on such days she can maybe just sleep over just to cook anytime.

So it’ s official guyz, you can recommend any chefs there, and must be beautiful of course, that’ s non-negotiable.” He stated.

While it’s common for job advertisements to specify qualifications related to professional skills and experience,

Butita’s insistence on the personal status of the candidate, particularly the criteria of being single and childless, has drawn attention for being unorthodox and, to some, discriminatory.

Meanwhile, some of his fans speculated that he’ s looking for a wife and not a house girl.

Public Reaction

The reactions to the post have been mixed.

Some fans found humor in the announcement, arguing that Butita was simply adding a light-hearted twist to his recruitment drive.

A few speculated that perhaps the comedian was looking to maintain a certain level of flexibility with the chef’s schedule, which might be more easily accommodated by someone without family responsibilities.

On the other hand, many social media users were quick to question the relevance of a candidate’s marital status or parental situation to their ability to cook.

Critics pointed out that such requirements could be seen as discriminatory against women with children or those in relationships.

Some even suggested that the post perpetuated gender stereotypes by implying that women with families might not be suitable for demanding jobs.

One user commented,” nigga is looking for a wife.” Another one added; ” In other news, he’s looking for a wife from coastal region.”

Butita’s Brand and Possible Intentions

Eddie Butita is known for his satirical take on social issues, and some are suggesting that the post may be more of a comedic stunt than a serious job offer.

The comedian has, in the past, used humor to poke fun at societal norms, and this could be another example of his tongue-in-cheek approach.

However, if the job offer is genuine, it does raise important questions about workplace equality and fairness, especially when it comes to gender-specific criteria in hiring processes.

In Kenya, labor laws prohibit discrimination based on marital status or pregnancy, and such advertisements could be seen as controversial in light of these legal protections.
