Mount Kenya University (MKU) is set to hold its 22nd Graduation Ceremony today.

Under the theme Higher Education as a Factor for Reduced Inequalities, the ceremony will see over 4,500 highly trained professionals enter the job market.

Dr. Peter Mathuki, the Secretary General of the East African Community will be the guest speaker at the event, which'll be held at the institution's main campus in Thika.

Earlier, Dr. Mathuki had urged universities to mobilise funds so as to contribute meaningfully towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

MKU founder and board chairman Prof. Simon Gicharu says the university has opened its doors to external researchers who wish to use its expansive infrastructural outlay to develop new knowledge that can solve society's numerous challenges.

The graduation ceremony comes just days after MKU's Rwanda campus received an award for being the best in hospitality and tourism training. The accolade was received during the “Rwanda Tourism Excellence Awards 2022” held in Kigali, Rwanda, recently.

The Graduation Ceremony will be LIVE on 'TV47' from 9am
