KCPE results expected to be released today

In Summary

  • The results of the 1,244,188 candidates will first be presented to the President by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu and KNEC before being announced to the public. 
  • Form One selection is expected to take place after Christmas. Schools re-open on January 23, 2023.

Results of the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination are expected to be released today. 

This will be an early Christmas gift to parents by the Education Ministry as they prepare for resumption of normal schooling calendar in 2023. The calendar was disrupted by closure of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The release of the results will also be occasioned by the return of President William Ruto from a one-week trip abroad. The results of the 1,244,188 candidates will first be presented to the President by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) before being announced to the public. 

The release of the results is expected to be followed by Form One selection is expected to take place after the Christmas. Schools re-open on January 23, 2023.

The pupils wrote the KCPE exam between November 28 and 30 this year. Only one more class will write the KCPE exam before the 8-4-4 system of education is phased out of the primary school curriculum.
