Eight people killed in accident involving 3 vehicles at Ngata blackspot

Eight people, including two children, have been killed after a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Ngata black spot area along Eldoret-Nakuru Highway on Tuesday, April 9 morning.

Reports indicate that at around 5:40 am, a tanker (a Mercedes Axor KBB584R/Zc8580) was being driven towards Nakuru City general direction but upon reaching the blackspot, the driver failed to keep to his proper traffic lane.

“…it hit Head-on motor vehicle reg no. KCP 599X Toyota Hiace which was heading to Eldoret from Nakuru direction which in turn hit motor vehicle reg No. KBZ032N Isuzu FRR which was on the climbing lane which rested on its nearside,” a report filed at Kaptembwe Police Station in Nakuru County says.

The tanker hit head-on the Toyota Hiace before the Toyota Hiace rammed into a lorry.

As a result of the impact, six adults and two children died on the spot while one woman sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital.
