Brian Chweya, a member of Elani, publicly addressed Savara, a member of Sauti Sol group, for making defamatory statements about the group during a recent podcast.
Savara was speaking during an invite on the Mic Cheque podcast where he narrated how the Kenyan musical journey has evolved.
While describing what he thought about competition Savara stood his ground on Kenya’s number 1 leading musical boy band Sauti sol.
Savara was vocal suggesting that Elani tried comparing themselves to Sauti Sol.
Savara described Elani’s “setback” as a result of thinking they could replace Sauti Sol.
The musician was quick to laud the progress of Sauti Sol, branded the musical giants as “mamba”
Brian Chweya took to Instagram to respond to Savara’s sentiments saying, “Keep our name out of your clout-chasing mouth.”
Brian further added that Savara was chasing clout with lies and that Bien is doing better without Savara.
Social media fans elicited mixed reactions to Savara’s statement, with some applauding him for showing love to Kenyan music.
Other fans were disappointed with Elani who are still in a musical hiatus but are vocal to call out other artistes.
There has not been any recent interactions between the two music bands as fans speculate possible long-term rivalry.
