Elizabeth Mutuku promoted to new role at TV47

TV47 news anchor and parliamentary reporter Elizabeth Mutuku has earned a promotion at the Cape Media-owned station.

Mutuku, adept at bringing heated political debates over the years, has been promoted to the position of Senior Anchor/Senior Political Reporter.

Elizabeth Mutuku is the host of Mfahamu Kiongozi and Ukumbi Wa Siasa shows on TV47, as well as Radio47’s Kikao Cha Hoja. She also presents Upeo Wa TV47 (7 pm bulleting) on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Announcing the changes on Wednesday, March 27 morning, Cape Media Ltd owner Prof. Simon Gicharu said that Mutuku’s elevation is clear indication of the company’s new direction to promote and empower staff internally.

“Elizabeth Mutuku has been with us for years and she has been very excellent in bringing impressive interviews with the who’s who in Kenya’s political scene, especially with her show, Mfahamu Kiongozi. In the long run, her efforts have helped in growing the TV station to one of the best in the country,” Prof. Gicharu said during a meeting with the staff.

Speaking to TV47 Digital after her promotion, the elegant Mutuku was over the moon.

“I’m coupled with excitement and honour to have been elevated to this level of a Senior News Anchor and Political/Parliamentary Reporter. I lack words!”

She was, however, quick to point out that with the new position comes a new challenge.

“I know it comes with a new challenge of ensuring I deliver in the same capacity. By God’s grace I will keep the momentum and relentlessly work towards taking Cape Media to higher dimensions. I’m looking forward to a successful forward drive,” Mutuku said.
