Elon Musk slams “60 Minutes” as “biggest liars in the world

Tech mogul Elon Musk has launched a scathing attack on CBS’s 60 Minutes.

Accusing the investigative news program of deliberately misleading the public.

In a fiery post on his social media platform, X, Musk called the show “the biggest liars in the world” and claimed its reporting was an attempt to interfere in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Musk’s outrage was sparked by Sunday’s 60 Minutes segment, which examined the Trump administration’s efforts to restructure the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The report featured a statement from former USAID administrator Andrew Natsios, a Republican, who defended the agency’s integrity and dismissed claims of widespread fraud.

“The most accountable aid agency in the world is USAID,” Natsios asserted in a graphic posted by 60 Minutes on X.

Musk, who has frequently criticized the agency as head of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, responded with sharp condemnation.

Musk calls for accountability

Musk did not grant 60 Minutes an interview but doubled down on his accusations, referencing a legal battle between Trump and CBS.

The former president has sued the network for $10 billion, claiming 60 Minutes deceptively edited a 2023 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump has even called for the show to be “immediately terminated.”

CBS has since released the full, unedited footage of Harris’ interview after an order from FCC chair Brendan Carr.

The network insisted that its reporting was not misleading, stating,

60 Minutes is always guided by the truth and what we believe will be most informative to the viewing public.”

Despite this, Musk remains unswayed, arguing that the show has a history of manipulating narratives.

His latest remarks add to ongoing tensions between conservative figures and mainstream media, further intensifying debates over press integrity and election influence.

As Paramount, CBS’s parent company, weighs the possibility of settling Trump’s lawsuit, concerns are rising over the broader implications of the case.
