Embu: Man breaks his arm while escaping from lover’s house

Police are investigating an incident in Embu where a 25-year-old man fractured his arm after jumping from the fourth floor of a rental building in Sunrise Estate on Saturday evening.

According to the police report, a 25-year-old man named Daniel Mwinzi had visited his female friend’s house when the incident happened.

Confirming the incident, Kamiu Location Chief Sammy Njagi said that the man was trying to flee from the woman’s house.

Njagi further stated that he was called by one of the tenants residing in the apartment at around 6 am informing him about the incident.

“I visited the scene and found the man, whose name I was able to establish, writhing in pain and holding his left arm. He had sustained a fracture,” said the Chief.

The man, who is currently receiving treatment at Embu Level Five hospital, is said to have been seen in a nearby club with the woman.

“The man was in the company of a woman with whom they had spent last night partying at a nearby night club. It is not clear why he jumped,” said the Chief.

Police are still investigating the incident.

Similar Incident to the one in Embu

This is not the first time a man has tried to commit suicide by jumping from a building.

Last month, on the 15th, a 23-year-old man died after jumping from the fourth floor of a Mombasa guest house.

The police report states that the man, who was receiving treatment at Coast General Referral Hospital, jumped from the Suhufi Palace Hotel in Bondeni along the busy Abdel Nasser road.

According to Mombasa County Police Commander Stephen Matu, Abdulrazak Kassim is said to have died of internal injuries in his head and stomach.

Matu further stated that the deceased’s family had booked him the room because he had become hostile to his family, who were located in Nyali.
