Harambee Stars assistant coach Ken Odhiambo has named the Kenya U23 Emerging Stars travelling squad for the 2024 COSAFA Cup, scheduled to take place from June 26 to July 7, 2024, in South Africa.
The team will predominantly feature players under the age of 23. This tournament provides a great opportunity for the nation’s Emerging Stars to gain international experience and exposure.
Additionally, it provides a platform for preparation of the 2027 AFCON that is set to be hosted in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Among those who have made the cut are Austine Odhiambo, Chrispine Erambo, Byrne Omondi and Kaycie Odhiambo.
Furthermore, U18 prodigies Aldrine Kibet, Elly Owande, Ibrahim Wanzala and Amos Wanjala have also been drafted into the final squad.
Kenya has been drawn in group A with Zambia, Comoros, and Zimbabwe. The team is set to depart for South Africa on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
