Citizen TV’s political affairs reporter Emmanuel Too has shared the circumstances under which he discovered his ex-girlfriend’s other lover.
In an interview with Mbaruk Mwalimu on ‘Maskani47’, Too shared that his ex-girlfriend’s scheme unravelled at the University of Kabianga.
Too, then a second-year student, said he had offered to visit the girl, a fellow student – only identified as Nancy, during the university’s ‘Culture Week’.
Nancy, however, informed him that she would be unavailable, as she would be travelling to Nairobi to visit her aunt during that time.
“During ‘Culture Week’ hakuna kitu kinafanyika chuoni – ni tamaduni na burudani tu. Mrembo huyo aliniambia hiyo wiki hatakuwepo kwa vile anasafiri kumtembelea shangazi yake Nairobi, hivyo basi nisipitie kwake,” said Too.
The acclaimed journalist said he took heed, but after two days he decided to visit Nancy’s home to ascertain whether she had come back.
“Baada ya siku mbili hivi kwa vile nilikuwa napajua eneo anapokaa nikaamua nipitie niangalie kama amerudi kutoka Nairobi,” he shared.
To his surprise, he found the door ajar. When he knocked, a man answered, demanding to know the purpose of his visit.
“Kufika kwake nikabisha nikapata mlango haujafungwa ilhali anafaa kuwa Nairobi. Kushtukizia, mtu akafungua mlango. Aliyefungua mlango ni ‘shangazi’ wa misuli tinginya; ‘shangazi’ aliye na six pack!” Too exclaimed.
He narrated that he was taken aback when the man revealed that Nancy was his girlfriend and was present in the house, contrary to her claim that she was in Nairobi.
“Kamwuliza huyo jamaa anafanya nini pale akaniambia yuko na mrembo wake Nancy. Nikamjibu pia nimekuja kumtafta Nancy! Kidogo, nikaskia sauti ya Nancy chumbani akisema, ‘si nilikuambia niko Nairobi!’ ” he narrated.
Surprised, Too said he composed himself to prevent any possible altercation at the home. He then informed the man that his sole purpose for being there was to ‘greet’ Nancy.
“Nilikuwa nadhani nimempata mpenzi kumbe alikuwa na wake. Mambo ni mengi hii town… Nilimwambia nilikuwa nimeleta salamu tu wala sina mengi zaidi. Kisha nikaondoka,” said the reporter.
Following the incident, the reporter said he reflected on his romantic life and concluded it was time to move on.
“Hivi vitu unakubali matokeo. Nilikuwa nimeachana kidogo na mrembo mwingine ikabidi nimemrudia. Nilionyeshwa vumbi. Ni mambo ya kawaida,” he advised.
He further revealed that he has no interest in rekindling his relationship with Nancy, even though she frequently engages with his photos on Facebook.
“Huwa namwona kwenye Facebook liking picha zangu haswa nilipohamia sehemu ile ya Dennis Pritt. You learn from these things and move on… Arudi wapi? Atafika akute pia mimi nipo Nairobi!”
