Renowned Nigerian pastor Anselm Madubuko, husband to gospel singer Emmy Kosgei, recently opened up about his life like never before.

In an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, the respected clergyman shared his remarkable journey—one filled with privilege, self-discovery, and faith.

Born into wealth, Madubuko never experienced financial struggles. Unlike many who rise from hardship to success, his life was different.

“At 18, I was in university studying architecture. In my second year, I ran for Director of Socials, competing against a fourth-year student. It was tough, but I won,” he recalled.

This victory was his first taste of leadership.

Soon after, he ventured into the entertainment scene, becoming a nightclub and radio DJ—a path far from the pulpit he would later stand on.

From Religion to true faith

Raised as a Roman Catholic, Madubuko was deeply immersed in religious practices.

However, he later realized that what he had was religion, not a relationship with Christ.

This void led him down dark paths, including involvement in Freemasonry, as he searched for meaning.

Despite his spiritual struggles, money was never an issue, neither did it influence any of his decisions. It was never about money but more of meaning, peace and contentment.

“Out of all the challenges I’ve faced in life, money has never been one of them,” he admitted.

His journey took a dramatic turn, one that stunned even him when he encountered Christ in a way that transformed him completely.

He abandoned his past, embraced faith, and dedicated his life to ministry.

Today, Madubuko is a highly regarded preacher and spiritual leader, using his experiences to guide others toward faith and purpose.
