Enock Kimathi, alongside his fellow recruits, had attracted widespread attention due to their behavior, which had garnered criticism from both the public and National Police Service superiors.

In 2021, a brief yet highly impactful viral video emerged, featuring young General Service Unit (GSU) graduates making threats to civilians, igniting significant outrage within the Kenyan online community.

The video showcased eight GSU soldiers displaying unwavering confidence as they expressed their intentions to enforce strict discipline upon completing their training.

“Mmeishaa..tutawamaliza. Sisi ndio wale wasee…hapana tambua…tunakuja inje…sisi ndio wa pa pa pa,” declared the recruits.

They were looking forward to their pass-out parade and unfortunately, the video was tagged to the National Police Service Twitter handle which promptly took action.

The NPS condemned their action assuring Kenyans that their views were not a representation of the service. NPS expressed regret over the incident and ordered an internal review.

While mourning his passing, some individuals contended that the viral video was a product of youthful exuberance and urged that Enock Kimathi not be judged solely based on that moment.

May he R.I.P!!
