Tributes pour in for departed musician Ilagosa wa Ilagosa

Tributes have continued to pour in for popular Gospel musician Samuel Ilagosa [Ilagosa wa Ilagosa] who died yesterday at a Nairobi hospital.
Ilagosa wa Ilagosa whose popular tracks include Sala Zangu, Mungu Atakupigania and Sema Nami died after ailing for two months.
"A great brother," Pastor Robert Burale eulogised him. "You attended my men's conference and we had a good chat and laugh ..Months later you were in a hospital bed ..The Lord will reveal the voice beyond the grave."
The Ilagosa family lost its matriarch Clementina Adema Ilagosa on December 18, 2021.
Ilagosa was born and bred in Bugina Village, Busali ward, Vihiga County. He studied at Kakamega High School and later, University of Nairobi.
‘‘This was a guy you could hold on for any advice and comfort at any given time. Through his creativity, Ilagosa made immense impact which not only elevated the Luhya musician who touched the lives of many. Ian heartbroken to have lost such a talented and kind soul,’’ one of his close friends Musalia Mudambi said.
In the course of his music career, Ilagosa worked with other greats such as Solomon Mkumbwa and the late Angela Chibalonza.
"Our prayers to your family and loved ones.. your fans. It is well," gospel artiste Emmy Kosgei said in her tribute.
"He has left a great legacy and his songs would uplift and encourage us. We will miss your vibrancy," said Evangelist Esther Mugambi.
"Every Soul will one day taste Death,but the joy in death is when you die in christ..Rest in peace my brother and friend," wrote radio presenter Muthee Kiengei (real name Benson Gathungu).
