Reprieve for ailing DJ Hot Jantex as Gamepawa offers her a job
Janet Jerop alias DJ Hot Jantex has landed an ambassadorial deal with betting company Gamepawa, just days after reports of her appeal for help to clear an outstanding hospital bill came to light.
Hours after being released from the hospital, the disc jockey confirmed that Gamepawa had approached her for an ambassadorial position.
"I'd like to thank everyone who has come through to lend a helping hand. First and foremost, my governor [Stephen Sang] for paying my bill, the county women's representative for paying my flight, and Gamepawa Kenya who facilitated my travel to the airport and gave me a job," she explained.
An executive from the company confirmed the job offer, saying the company was ready to support her during her recovery.
"As a company, we have a social responsibility policy. When the story about Janet came to light, we took the responsibility to ensure that she gets home well from hospital" He said in part, adding "We will also ensure she has a smooth recovery. We are currently offering her an online ambassadorship."
Her plight was brought to light when she took to social media to request assistance from former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in paying her KSh1.2 million hospital bill.
“Mweshimiwa Mike Sonko. …., I’ve seen God using you to help those in need I’m in the hospital with a huge bill kindly help. I’m looking forward to your reply. Thanks in advance,” she shared on her social media pages.
Janet had been bedridden at MP Shah Hospital for more than a month following an operation on her right leg to repair a vessel problem.
