Second-half goals from Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka helped Arsenal to a deserved victory 1-2 on the road, against Nottingham Forest to bring the gunners closer to the summit of the English Premier league.
The win also brings Mikel Arteta back to the title race, the Spaniard was impressed by his boy’s performance. Speaking after the Match Arteta indicated that everybody was at a good level.
“I think everybody was at a really good level,” Mikel told Arsenal.com at full-time.
“I’m really pleased with Emile as well because it’s been a long time since he had an opportunity to start a game. He’s been training really well, really sharp.
“Gabby as well, because he had a slight problem in his knee and in the last two days, he was pushing every physio and myself to be out there with the team. He looked really sharp and he helped us to win the game.”
Forest offered very little as they failed to have a shot on target and had just two touches in the Arsenal box.
Taiwo Awoniyi came in for Chris Wood at half-time but Arsenal continued to dominate as Saka finally tested Turner who saved his deflected effort.
The visitors’ frustrations grew further as Jesus then hit the post, but Jesus did find the back of the net in the 65th minute as he squeezed one in past Turner at his near post.
Since Forest came up to the Premier League, they’ve beaten Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and this season’s Aston Villa at the City Ground. Man City and Chelsea failed to win there last season too.
Meanwhile, Forest’s relegation fears deepened with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side now sitting just two points above the drop zone.
