Students of Equip Africa College are this week showcasing their cultural diversity.
This is part of the institution’s agenda to promote Kenya’s vibrant and diverse cultural landscape which is a part of everyday life.
The event that is being held at the institution’s main campus in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County is a platform where creativity, learning and ideas converge to bring together thousands of participants from communities countrywide and beyond.
This cultural event is aimed at making students engage in cultural innovative activities including traditional foods, dressing cords, fashion and design and songs.
The event was spearheaded by Equip Africa Director Peter Njenga and dean of students Jackson Kaberi.
“At Equip Africa, we appreciate our culture and this cultural event has enabled our students to have an experience with traditional foods, traditional dances, dressing and other activities of different communities in the country,” Peter Njenga-Director.
“As a university this is something that we put in our calendar to celebrate the various cultures that we have,” he added.
Dean of students Jackson Kaberi noted that the cultural week at the institution has helped students, who are commonly Gen Zs to familiarize themselves with different cultures
He also called on the government to come up with creative ways of encouraging youth to embrace their culture.
