In a heartfelt acceptance speech, Omondi dedicated the award to the Kenyans and supporters who’ve consistently stood by him. “TEAM SISI KWA SISI, YOU DID IT!!! Yesterday was a Great Day! We won Humanitarian of the Year… MUNGU MBELE!!!” he shared with his followers on social media, grateful for their unwavering support in his mission to change lives one step at a time.

Known as the self-declared President of Comedy in Africa, Eric Omondi has leveraged his fame and influence to champion charitable causes, raising funds for medical bills, school fees, housing, and business ventures.

His philanthropic efforts have even led to the construction of a vital bridge in Nyakumbati village, Kisii County, helping residents, particularly schoolchildren, safely cross a once treacherous river.

Omondi’s fiancée, Lynne Njiru, was also at the ceremony and took a moment to praise Eric’s relentless commitment to improving the lives of others. “He goes to great lengths to make life better for those in need,” she said.

As the National Council of Community-Based Organizations continues to support over 52,000 grassroots groups across Kenya, Eric Omondi’s contributions stand out.

His initiative, “Team Sisi Kwa Sisi,” embodies his philosophy of collective action, empowering communities and making a tangible difference in the lives of the most vulnerable.

“CMA is in the drivers seat in making sure there is a peace bridge between society and Governance, bearing in mind that for peace to prevail, there has to be oneness, a trusted table for open decisions on social governance issues. And CMA is here to build that bridge as their trust professional parties,” Bright said during the gala.

The Peace Awards shall happen annually to recognize the social peace builders from all parts of the country.

Other winners included former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Senator Okiya Omtatah, Fafi MP Abdulkarim Osman – a man known for no hate speech in politics.

Fafi MP Abdikarim Osman receives the ‘No Hate Speech Ambassador Award’ by Certified Mediators and Advisory Board (CMA) in recognition of “my efforts and standards of not using humiliating and disrespectful speech against my political opponents and my dedication to a no-hate political discourse.”
