Erik ten Hag provides Jadon Sancho update

SportsWORLD

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an update on the Jadon Sancho situation at Old Trafford ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Brentford.

Sancho has been absent from the team since August 26, missing the last four Premier League matches, the third-round EFL Cup fixture, and the first two group-stage games in the Champions League.

During his press conference on Friday, Ten Hag addressed the ongoing issue, stating, “I am sorry, but there’s been no change in the situation, and he’s not available, so he is not part of the squad. I don’t have any further comment on that. As I mentioned earlier, if he becomes available, we will make an announcement.”

After their 3-1 loss at Arsenal on September 3, 2023, Ten Hag said that the 23-year-old winger had been omitted from the lineup due to subpar performances in training.

However, Sancho responded to his manager’s comments on social media which have since been deleted but the former Borussia Dortmund man has refused to apologize to his manager for the comments.

As a consequence of his refusal to apologize, Sancho has been excluded from the first-team activities, including training with the senior squad and utilizing their facilities.

Jadon Sancho was indiscipline at Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho faced disciplinary issues during his tenure at his former club Borussia Dortmund, which included staying up late playing video games.

According to Bild, Dortmund is contemplating re-signing the winger from Manchester United, but concerns about his past discipline record with the Bundesliga club are hindering the move.

The report reveals that Sancho’s disciplinary issues were a subject of discussion behind the scenes at Dortmund, and senior figures at the club are apprehensive that his return could disrupt the current squad.
