Esther Musila’s daughter Gilda Naibei has penned a glowing tribute as she marks seven years since her father’s demise.
Taking to social media on Thursday, Naibei recalled the heartbreaking phone call informing her of her father’s death in 2016.
“This is always the hardest day of the year but 7 years ago getting that phone call had to be the worst,” she began.
‘We are doing well dad’
Naibei, who works as a local journalist, said she missed her dad and hoped that he was proud of her milestones in life so far.

“Dad I just miss you. Just seeing you or laughing with you. You used to read the newspaper every day so I know you would be proud to see your daughter on it.
“We’re all doing well I know you would be proud. I miss you and I love you. Keep resting in peace,” she wrote.
Esther Musila weds Guardian Angel
Musila,53, made another attempt at love in January 2022 when she tied the knot with 32-year-old gospel musician Peter Omwaka popularly known as Guardian Angel at a colourful wedding.
Naibei openly supports their marriage although acknowledging that Guardian Angel cannot step in as a father.
“We had a father, we are with a father. His name was Erick, may his soul rest in peace. He was a good father, we loved him. We lost him in 2016. I can say that I am with a father. He is very much a guardian, he is like a counselor,” she said in a previous interview.
Kids are not a priority
Musila and Guardian Angel have continuously countered public opinions ranging from their age differences to sentiments about having children.
“The best part about my marriage is that I love to be in my marriage. I love to love my wife. She means more to me than something to give me children. If I get an opportunity to have a kid with my wife, I’ll thank God, if I don’t it’s okay,” he added.
