Jamaican reggae sensation Etana has stunned her fans by canceling her much-anticipated Good Vibes Festival in Nairobi.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the A.S.K Dome, Jamhuri Park Showground, will no longer feature the star due to what she describes as possible sabotage.
Taking to her official X page, the “I Am Not Afraid” hitmaker revealed shocking claims of foul play.
Without naming names, Etana disclosed that someone had allegedly paid a significant amount of money to derail her event.
“Someone has paid big money to ensure the show tonight is sabotaged! I am not happy about the sabotage, and let me be clear—I am not showing up at Platinumz show! It’s all good!” she posted.
In a string of emotional statements, Etana suggested that the individual behind the alleged scheme orchestrated a competing event featuring Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz.
According to her, this rival show was initially postponed but later rescheduled to coincide with her event, causing conflict.
“My show on Dec. 7 was being promoted long before someone popped up with a show with Diamond Platnumz on the same day and in the same area.
Then, I heard their show was postponed, and yesterday they returned 50 strong,” she explained.
Etana also shared that local authorities intervened, declaring that both events could not proceed in the same area.
She expressed frustration, questioning why such “politics and drama” were targeted at her. “
All this for one girl. I wonder who is behind it all. Why are you so afraid of one show and one woman?” she wrote.
The Good Vibes Festival was set to start at 7 p.m. and run until 5:30 a.m., promising fans an unforgettable night of reggae magic.
Instead, fans were left heartbroken, with the sudden cancellation adding a somber tone to what should have been a joyous occasion.
