The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court will today morning deliver judgment in the KSh588 million corruption case against former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Ndung’u Waititu Babayao, his wife, and implicated county officials.
Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzioki, who found the accused with a case to answer, will deliver the final verdict on whether or not they should be sent to jail.
Waititu and his co-accused were charged with fraud, conflict of interest, dealing with suspect property, money laundering, and abuse of office, arising from fraudulent award of tenders to a company owned by the Waititu family.

In a previous court session, Waititu denied all the charges against him, claiming it was a political witchhunt from his rivals.
Waititu, his wife Susan Wangari, Testimony Enterprises, its directors and others were charged in 2019 for irregular award of a KSh588,198,328 road tender in Kiambu County.
The former governor was charged with conflict of interest, abuse of office, money laundering, fraudulent acquisition of public property and willful failure to comply with law relating to procurement.
