Ex-MP Munyaka declines President Ruto’s job

Former Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka has turned down an appointment by President William Ruto to the position of chairperson, Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre Board of Management.

“After soul-searching, extensive consultations and in consideration of the current political climate that threatens the realisation of the government’s economic transformation agenda, I have made the difficult decision to respectfully decline this appointment,” stated the lawmaker in a statement.

Dr Munyaka had previously been appointed as the Lands Chief Administrative Secretary before the positions were declared unconstitutional.

Other appointments

These appointments were made in a gazette notice published on Friday October 4 in a bid to improve service delivery in President Ruto’s administration.

President Ruto also appointed James Ndung’u as the Chairperson of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority for a period of three years.

Donald Murgor’s term as chairperson Water Resources Authority Board was extended until 2027. Seven members of a selection panel that will recruit Public Service Commission (PSC) vice chairperson and members.

The seven members include: Ruth Wambeti, Arthur Osiya, Elizabeth Chesang, Oscar Eredi, Prof Nura Mohammed, Nancy M. Butama and Grace Wairimu.

Silas Otieno will chair the Council of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication for three years whereas Joseph Kipchumba will lead the National Mining Corporation until 2027.

Finally, Retired ACK Bishop Joseph Kagunda to chair the Board of the Anti-Doping Agency for three years.
