Exciting fixtures set the stage as FKF Cup draw unveiled

The highly anticipated draw for the FKF Cup has been announced, setting up thrilling matchups in the Round of 64 as teams from across the country prepare for knockout action.

The tournament draw took place on February 17, 2025, and the competition kicks off this weekend with matches scheduled for February 22-23, 2025.

Among the standout fixtures, AFC Leopards will face Dero FC. The last time these two sides met at this stage in 2017, AFC Leopards dominated with a staggering 15-1 victory at Moi Stadium in Kisumu and went on to lift the cup that year. Fans will be eager to see if history repeats itself or if Dero FC can pull off an upset against the 2017 champions.

Kakamega Homeboyz will be up against TBM Health, while record FKF Premier League winners Gor Mahia will take on KSG Ogopa. Tusker FC, another league giant, is set to clash with Gucha Youth, hoping to make a deep run in the tournament.

Bandari FC will travel to face RWAFA, while Kariobangi Sharks will compete against Spitfire, Murang’a SEAL will face Gituru, and Ulinzi Stars will go up against Kirinyaga Allstars. Reigning champions Kenya Police FC, eager to retain the silverware this season, will square off against Superior Hotel.

Other FKF Premier League teams in action include KCB, who will face Chemogoch, Shabana FC versus Solian City and Bidco United, who will meet Marafiki.

With a coveted trophy, prize money, and a potential CAF Confederation Cup slot on the line, teams will be giving their all from the very first round of the competition.

Kenya Police are the defending champions, having clinched the 2024 FKF Cup title after defeating KCB 8-7 in a dramatic penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation and extra time.

The action begins with the Round of 64 on February 22-23, 2025. Following this initial round, the excitement continues with the Round of 32 scheduled for March 8-9, 2025. The Round of 16 is set for April 12-13, 2025, while the quarterfinal matches are slated for May 1-4, 2025. The semi finals will take place on May 24-25, 2025, leading up to the grand finale scheduled for June 14, 2025.
