Fake military intelligence officers arrested at DCI headquarters

Two suspects impersonating military intelligence officers have been arrested at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road.

The two imposters were arrested when they presented themselves at the DCI Headquarters.

They were impersonating officers of the Directorate of Military Intelligence and National Intelligence Service, seeking assistance in apprehending a suspect.

“The two had cited frustrations from the Investigating officer in a case of obtaining money by the false pretense that was allegedly recorded at Central Police Station, Nairobi,” read part of the DCI statement.

DCI detectives arrested the suspects after they failed to produce valid identification documents.

They had tried to outsmart DCI detectives by claiming they had forgotten to carry their valid identification documents.

“They were subjected to further background checks where it was established that they were impersonating,” DCI reported.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two are part of a group of swindlers defrauding unsuspecting citizens.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations wishes to inform any persons who may have fallen victim to the two to report at the DCI Headquarters,” the DCI stated.

The two were arraigned at the Kiambu Law Courts, where they were charged with impersonating state officers and fraud.
