Family of two women, Glady’s Wanjiku and Felister Nyambeke have expressed concerns about the well being and potential mistreatments of their relatives in Saudi Arabia.

They claim that they have not communicated with them for nearly two years since they traveled to Saudi Arabia for their job as domestic workers.

Wanjiku traveled to Saudi Arabia in 2018 whereas Felister Nyambeke traveled in 2021.

In a video doing rounds in social media, Wanjiku is seen bed ridden with a tube attached to her nose with a woman who appears to be her employer taking the video.

“Your people wants to see you, okay?” The woman said while recording her.

Wanjiku’s mother Zipporah Wanjiru could not hold back her tears upon seeing the TikTok video.

“She said Mum please pray for me. A big sum of the money I’m getting here goes to pay my hospital bill.” Wanjiku’s mother said in an interview with TV47.

Her mother revealed that she would rather her daugther comes back home so they can figure it out than her staying there.

A medical report from a hospital in Saudi Arabia shows that Wanjiku had a dislocated right lip joint with multiple bed sores and TB rendering her bed ridden for a year.

Family of Felister Nyambeke has also expressed their sorrows and worries as they also haven’t seen or talked to their loved for nearly two years.

“Uncle, I am suffering, I don’t know how I will get out of here, they are saying they will kill me.” Nyambeke said in a call recorded a while back.

The two families are asking the government to intervene and help them get back their loved one back home in one piece.

A government report in 2021 revealed that 89 Kenyans had died in Saudi Arabia in a span of two years.

Human Right Organization Haki Africa has threatened to intervene if the relevant ministries fail to address the issue within 7 days.
