Family of four killed in Narok mudslides

Four family members were on Monday, April 8 night buried alive in a mudslide in Torokiat village, Narok South.

According to a report filed at Ololulunga Police Station, those who died include a father, mother, son and daughter.

“It was reported by members of public that due to heavy rain throughout the night, mudslides occurred at unknown time of the night and caused death to 4 residents members of the same family,” the report says.

The area police commander Isaac Omare says the deceased are; Robert Keter, 35 (father), Faith Keter, 24 (mother), Brian Keter, 5 (son) and Cherotich Keter, 3 (daughter). They were sleeping when their house was swept away by mudslides.

Efforts are underway to collect their bodies.
