Family of Zetech University graduate Seth Nyakio Njeri seeks justice after her tragic death

The family of 23-year-old Seth Nyakio Njeri, a recent graduate of Zetech University, is seeking justice following her tragic death.

Nyakio’s body was discovered on October 14, 2024, in a rented apartment in the Biafra area of Thika, Kiambu County.

She had left home two days earlier, on Saturday, October 12, to visit a friend.

Her mother, Lucy Njeri, expressed profound grief over the loss of her only child, describing the ordeal as a heartbreaking and traumatic experience.

Speaking during an interview on national TV, Lucy recalled that Nyakio had left home in high spirits, looking happy and full of life, which made the tragedy even harder to comprehend.

“I found my daughter lying peacefully, a good soul; you could even think we were talking to each other because the bond and the friendship we shared had to depart from me,” Lucy stated.

The circumstances surrounding Nyakio’s death remain unclear, as her family demands answers and a thorough investigation into what led to her untimely demise.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Seth had been strangled. Police say the assailant abused the deceased before committing the heinous act.

“I saw visible injuries on the neck,” she said.

Lucy Njeri emphasized the importance of justice for her daughter, urging authorities to expedite their investigations.

“It was murder and so many other shocking things that no parent or everybody else would have liked to go through. I have been left with the trauma, the pain and shock,” Njeri stated.

“I loved her so much, she was my only child,” she added.

Nyakio’s death has sent shockwaves through the Thika community, with many questioning the safety and security in the area.

Her family and friends are left grappling with the sudden loss, as they await further details from the police regarding the ongoing investigation.

The Zetech University community also mourns the loss of a young and promising graduate whose future was cut short in such a tragic manner.

Authorities are yet to release any official statement about the cause of death, but the family remains hopeful that justice will be served and the truth will come to light.
