Fans demand ticket refunds after Lionel Messi fails to play

A group of football fans who attended the Inter Miami vs. Chicago match on October 5, 2023, is now demanding a refund, expressing their disappointment over the absence of star attacker Lionel Messi once again.

Despite their team suffering a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Chicago, these dedicated fans remained unwavering in their desire. Their sole wish was to witness Messi’s performance at Soldier Field in Chicago, a wish that remained unfulfilled due to his ongoing injury.

The fans hoisted a placard demanding a refund after the World Cup winner failed to take part in the match, a situation that has been the norm since the September international break.

The message on the placard is unequivocal: “We all got robbed, we want our money back,” the placard reads as reported by B/R Football.

Busquets has however sympathized with the fans who attended the matches to see Messi who was a no-show.

He said: “We understand people and we are very excited that they come, but we are not machines or robots. We would like to play every minute, but in the end, we look at the long-term good of the team. It’s a shame for everyone, not just the fans.”
