Grace’s barbershop at the heart of Nairobi central business district (CBD) offers pampering and dance services attracting international clients.
Grace reveals that her shop is not just about hair cuts but provides full pampering experience, as she shared insights into her unique business approach.
Her unique services involves delighting clients with dance shows, and she documents and posts these performances on TikTok.
Grace mentioned in an interview with Trudy Kitui that her captivating TikTok clips have attracted customers, bringing men from all over the world to her business.
She said that her clients come from as far as US, Juba and Ghana for her styling services.
“I have received a lot of clients from America, Juba, Ghana, South Africa. There’s this client who came all the way from Nigeria specifically to get her hair cut from me. I was in the house, and he insisted I had to be his barber; I was really experiencing a low moment.
“I was broke with bills to pay, and I felt like I hit a jackpot. It all worked out. He came with his wife , and they paid me in dollars,” she recounted.
She also mentioned that men appreciate her barbershop because they enjoy what they can visually appreciate but not physically interact with.
The lovely barber also shared that she dances on TikTok to attract clients to her barbershop.
According to her, some men may arrive at her shop with wrong intentions, but upon visiting, they understand that the reality is different on site.
Grace shared that she sometimes encounters challenges, especially from wives whose husbands are her regular customers.
Nonetheless, she stressed that everyone acknowledges her business as reputable and valid, similar to any other.
