Omanyala, hailed as Kenya’s sprint king, seized the top spot in the men’s 60m at the Elite Indoor Track Meeting, setting a new meeting record with an astonishing time of 6.52 seconds.

In a display of sheer speed and mastery, he left his competitors in the dust, shattering his own national record of 6.54 seconds set just last year in France.

The Kenyan athlete’s lightning-fast performance not only secured the gold but also edged perilously close to the current world lead at 6.48 seconds.

Omanyala’s Cameroonian rival, Eseme Emmanuel-Alobwede, trailed in second place at 6.61 seconds, while perennial Ivorian competitor Arthur Cisse claimed third with 6.62 seconds.

Omanyala, 28, showcased his prowess right from the preliminary heats, clocking in at 6.62 seconds and securing his spot in the finals. Undeterred, he then further enhanced his performance, clinching victory in the final round.

With his eyes set on glory, the Kenyan sprinter is gearing up for his second indoor meet in the Capital Paris next weekend.

This relentless pursuit of excellence is all in preparation for his upcoming return to the World Indoor Championships scheduled for March 1 to 3 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Omanyala’s journey is not just a race; it’s a thrilling saga of speed, triumph, and a relentless pursuit of breaking barriers.
