Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been arrested.
Waititu was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers on Monday, September 30 afternoon.
According to lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, the politician was arrested over utterances he made on Sunday, September 29 while in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
“Hon. Waititu arrested by DCI officers for an alleged utterance at Ruiru Jana,” Lawyer Njiru said on X, formerly Twitter.
Waititu told Nation.Africa that he was accosted by the DCI officers on Northern Bypass in Kiambu County.
He suspects that his arrest is as a result of the utterances he made during a church service in Ruiru. Waititu had said that if Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is impeached, he should go home with his boss, President William Ruto.
