Fifth-year student of Medicine found dead at University of Nairobi

A student of Medicine at the University of Nairobi was found dead in a case of suspected suicide, according to the police report.

The body of Collins Kiprop Kosgei,  a fifth-year medical student, was found at the main hall residence after he died on Monday, September 2, 2024 evening, according to the police report.

Police reported that the Medical student was alone during the incident and his head was found covered with a nylon paper.

Fellow students were shocked after discovering his body in the room, and they informed police immediately. 

However, no suicide note was recovered at the scene and the cause of the alleged suicide is yet to be established.

The body was moved to the city mortuary pending autopsy, as police continue with investigations.

Meanwhile, Kilimani police boss Ben Kobia said they are still investigating the matter, while emphasizing the need for citizens to consider professional counseling in case of challenging situations to avoid similar incidents in future.
