Police have arrested five suspects and recovered firearms that were stolen from a police officer, following a report from Mowlem police station today, July 13th, 2024.
In an earlier date, a police Inspector, Charles Muriungi Keroneli stationed at Kariobangi South Police post reported a missing pistol and 15 bullets which prompted him to attempt suicide.
In a report, a team compromising of Nairobi police service raided a house within Saika estate and managed to arrest Hellen Njeri Kirika and Veronicah Ndunge Kioko where 15 rounds of Ammos were recovered.
Two other suspects in Umoja, Kevin Onesmus Njenga and John Mwangi Matheri were also arrested.
Subsequently, the police went to Huruma kwa Chege estate where Abilaliz Duba Molu was arrested.
His house was searched where two pistols, a Ceska pistol with an empty magazine and a Falco pistol with an empty magazine were recovered, along with three silver bullets, two Somali swords, and one checked red and white shirt.
The Ceska was identified as the one stolen from the Inspector Charles Muriungi Keroneli while the second pistol is pending identification.
