FKF has no right to stop anyone from running in its, upcoming elections. This is according to sports journalist Fred Arocho.
Fred Arocho has fired out sentiments on LIVE TV calling out FKF’s move to block participants eyeing the FKF top job.

Arochos’s statements come in the wake of the upcoming FKF elections which will witness embattled FKF President Nick Mwenwa’s reign ending.
In a twist of events, FKF has passed amendments to the criteria for qualifying to run for various positions within the football body.

FKF election amendments
During the federation SGM, the body passed certain amendments on qualifications required to run for FKF positions.
One of the contentious factors is the reduction of the number of years of participation within FKF from three to two years.

Since there have not been any federation elections due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the amendments passed were those proposed in 2019/2020.
Sports journalist Fred Arocho has disagreed with said amendments stating that it is a silent ploy to lock out those wishing to run.

In a heated debate on TV47’s Mchakamchaka with Duncan Mutua and Lucky Herriano, Arocho stated that FKF was using antiques to play with its up-and-coming elections.

Kenyan Laws are above federation rules
During the sit-down, Fred Arocho highlighted that if the federation amendments are challenged in court, they will not stand.
“If you have worked for 8 years, kwanini umfungie Arocho?” He questioned.
Arocho questioned Nick Mwendwa’s leadership which he has been brandished a fierce critic over sentiments shared.
However, the tables turned After TV47 Sports host Duncan Mutua asked Arocho to come clean and declare his interest in the federation’s top job.
Nonetheless, Arocho stayed away from the question stating that he was but a sports activist who was deeply rooted in seeing Kenyan football blossom.
