FKF facilitates all-female CAF coaching course

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has taken a significant step toward empowering women in football by facilitating an all-female CAF C coaching course at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE).

This course, which kicked off on Monday, October 14, 2024, will run until Friday, November 15, 2024, bringing together 30 female coaches from across the country.

This initiative is part of the broader Football Kenya Federation strategy, aimed at increasing the number of female coaches in Kenya and closing the gender gap in football coaching.

By providing participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and qualifications, the course seeks to help these coaches excel in their careers, ultimately contributing to the development of women’s football in Kenya and beyond.

The course is led by two highly accomplished CAF instructors, Coach Jackline Juma—who recently made history as the first female head coach in the FKF Premier League with FC Talanta—and Beldine Odemba, who also made headlines by guiding Kenya Police Bullets to an unbeaten season, clinching their maiden FKF Women’s Premier League title.

These trailblazing coaches bring a wealth of experience and success, making them ideal mentors for the next generation of female coaches.

The FKF’s support of this course highlights its commitment to developing local coaching talent, particularly among women, as part of its ongoing efforts to elevate women’s football in the country. With more opportunities like this, Kenya is on track to produce more qualified female coaches who will continue to inspire the next generation of footballers.
