FKF forms Transition Ad Hoc Committee to ensure seamless Governance

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has established a seven-member Transition Ad Hoc Committee tasked with steering the federation during a critical transitional phase.

The decision, made during deliberations by the National Executive Council (NEC) in December, underscores FKF’s commitment to maintaining stability, accountability, and sustainable development in Kenyan football.

Committee Leadership and Members

The committee will be chaired by FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, with Women Representative Kerubo Momanyi serving as the Deputy Chairperson. Upper Rift FKF Branch NEC Member Bernard Lagat has been appointed as Secretary.

The other members of the committee include:

  • Charles Njoka Njagi (Eastern NEC Member)
  • Robert Macharia (Central NEC Member)
  • Ahmedqadar Mohammed Dabar (North Eastern NEC Member)
  • Peter “Kass Kass” Kamau (Lower Rift NEC Member)

Leadership Confidence

FKF President Hussein Mohammed expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to fulfill its mandate:

“The FKF Transition Ad Hoc Committee has hit the ground running. One month into office, I’m proud to see the critical governance structures of FKF taking shape. This is a key step towards rebuilding trust in our football. I remain committed to ensuring transparency and accountability are the foundation of everything we do.”

Mandate of the Transition Ad Hoc Committee

The committee is entrusted with several critical responsibilities to ensure FKF’s operational and institutional integrity:

  1. Facilitate Operational Continuity: Maintain essential systems and processes to prevent disruptions during the transition.
  2. Preserve Institutional Integrity: Uphold transparency, credibility, and accountability throughout the transition.
  3. Prepare Incoming Leadership: Equip the newly elected NEC with the tools and insights needed for effective governance.
  4. Build Capacity: Enhance administrative, technical, and strategic capabilities for sustainable growth.
  5. Commission a Forensic Audit: Conduct an extensive audit of FKF’s finances and human resources to promote accountability
